Prezentation of Zaježka - its development, most important local projects and possibilities for guests.
New inhabitants of Zajezova valley and places in its close neighbourhood have brought new life into dying out small village. People join efforts to improve quality of life here, to prevent problems, which caused depolpulation in second half of 20th century. They organize common work on public projects (bus stop reparation, waste collection, tree planting, playground making etc.), informal parties and bigger seasonal celebrations, common holidays and weekend trips of families, local activism (nature protection, waste issues,...) and so on. There are 80 adults and 50 children not only directly from Zajezova, but also from surrounding areas with similar landscape, who cooperate somehow. Everybody has an own way and own extent of involment in communal issues - some people are more in the centre of social life, others contribute occasionaly. The community is decentralized and unhierarchical - only freely connected by common interests and activities. There are several NGOs and informal groups operating here and this web page can give you rough idea about extent and diversity of communal life in Zajezka. The base of many community activities is in Community Cente located in the building called MNV - it is former municipality building from times, when Zajezova was independent village. The building is rented by local NGO and serves as place for meetings, for activities of pre-school children, smaller events, storage of Food Bank project etc. Other common initiative is this web page or community magazine Naozaj and many others.
